On a chance visit to Uksan Reservoir the directors of the foundation discovered the lack of basic medical facilities in the area. Villagers from Uksan, Shirde, Somavadi, Vadavali & Bhajgaon need to travel almost 13 kms to access rudimentary health & emergency care – most times either on foot, bicycle or motorcycle – the situation being particularly difficult for women, children and senior citizens as most young able bodies stay away in the cities at work during the week.
This was the idea for a subsidized clinic in the village which could provide immediate and essential emergency and general medical support for all.
The Seva Clinic is work in progress and intends to open its doors in October 2024
